No single event in human history has received more attention than the suffering and crucifixion of Jesus of Nazareth. During Lent three years ago, we walked through the final week of Jesus’ life before the Cross. This year we want to focus in even more. In this teaching series we will walk through the last twenty-four hours of Jesus’ life, that we might understand the significance of Jesus suffering and death in a way we never have before. Whether you are a long-time follower of Jesus or simply curious about the story of Jesus’s crucifixion, join us as we retrace the final 24 hours of Jesus’ life.

Some of the most beautiful verses in all of literature are found in the Bible. Millions upon millions look to it for inspiration and guidance. At the same time, some parts are confusing and others can even be disturbing. We understandably can be led to ask many questions about it, such as: “Did God really command military violence and genocide?”; “Are these God’s Words or those of mortals?”; “How do we make sense of Scripture in light of science?” For any who have ever had questions about the Bible, we want to frankly consider these and other challenging questions in this teaching series.

During the four weeks of Advent, we will join with followers of Christ around the world in preparing for the Advent or "coming" of Jesus Christ. How could it be that the God of Creation would choose to become flesh and blood and – as Eugene Peterson put it – “move into the neighborhood.” During this special time of year, this teaching series will challenge your head and speak to your heart as we prepare to celebrate the birth of our Savior, the Light of the World.
